A little natural history

A pale, muscular burrower of sandy western Australian ground. Its small head and powerful forelimbs give it the strange appearance of a tiny turtle without a shell.

The wonderfully odd bit

Its young hatch as froglets; there is no free-swimming tadpole stage.
