A little natural history

This round, broad-mouthed ambush hunter waits partly buried rather than chasing its dinner. The name Pacman frog covers several species and hybrids; identify the animal before choosing husbandry.

The wonderfully odd bit

A hidden frog can launch a sudden feeding strike when prey passes close by.

Would this frog suit a home?

Keep individually with suitable burrowing substrate and easy access to shallow clean water. Avoid loose feeding substrates that could be swallowed and use safe feeding tools.

Only consider legally obtained, captive-bred animals. Check permits and restrictions where you live, test the habitat first, and arrange an amphibian-experienced vet. This brief profile is not a complete husbandry sheet.
